Campers choose an instrument to play: vocals, guitar, bass guitar, keyboards, or drums. They receive instruction from an experienced female identified or non-binary mentor daily. We provide the instruments or you can bring your own electric guitar, electric bass guitar or electric keyboard (upon approval).
Camper bands are mentored by band coaching teams of inspirational musicians and singer-songwriters. They not only bring their music skills, but also tools to help the campers support each other and collaborate.
In support of inclusion and with the intent to provide equal opportunity we form bands by drawing names from a hat to form a full band. We hope this will encourage the campers to form new friendships and collaborations.

Examples of workshops are Songwriting, Self-Defense, Silk Screening T-shirts, “Her”story of Rock, Body Image & Identity, Drum Circle, Community Impact, Zine Making, and more!
Our number one priority is to keep campers, staff, and families safe, healthy, and able to attend our camp. We will be following CDC guidelines and mandates as well as our venue's required safety protocol. We highly recommend that campers (participants) who can get vaccinated do so. At this time, vaccinations for our on-site team, staff and volunteers are required. Masks and negative testing may be required at the time of camp for all participants and staff.
WHO CAN APPLY FOR CAMP?
While our programming is guided by the experiences of girls youth 8 to 17 years of age, we are committed to creating an inclusive environment that supports and welcomes a wide range of gender identities and expressions. We welcome girls, trans, and gender nonconforming participants. There is no musical experience necessary and all instruments are provided for camp.
Many third party transportation services such as Uber or Lyft may not legally transport any individual under 18 years of age that is unaccompanied by someone 18 years old or older. Therefore, for the safety and welfare of your child, and since all youth that attend camp are under 18 years of age it is our policy that we will not be releasing any camper to travel via third party transportation that is not accompanied by an adult. This adult must be someone you have specified as an adult you allow to pick up your child from our camp through our Pick-up Permissions form.
Their first gig!!! The campers perform their original songs in front of family, friends and the community at a local venue. Tickets are $12.00 for general admission at the door or online HERE. Campers do not require a ticket for admission.

GXRLS ROCK! Summer Camp hosted by Rock n’ Roll Camp for Girls San Diego is a week-long day camp where girls and non-binary youth ages 8-17 use music as a powerful way to communicate and collaborate while being guided by inspirational female and non-binary mentors. In one week, campers form bands, learn an instrument, write an original song and perform live for the community in a showcase event. They will also have the opportunity to attend a variety of workshops with topics related to being an empowered rocker!
In order for every camper to have the greatest experience it is important that they attend everyday from 9am-4pm. Remember…your new band needs you to help them ROCK!
Please be sure you will be able to commit to the full week with your new band! It is important that campers attend camp every day all day to receive the full empowerment camp experience and to be there for each other.
